Lua Berniece's Story
Tom and I have been married 38 years. Thirty-three of those years we have been planted in Southern California. I have always said I¿m and Oregonian and my husband dragged me to California. Together we have two boys and I have two step-sons. All together we have 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren with another on the way. It's amazing how time flies and the families grow!
The majority of my working experience has been at Ventura Regional Sanitation District in Ventura, CA. During the 28 ...Expand for more
years there, I worked in the Finance Dept, Human Resources and Risk Management. After my employer made an offer we couldn¿t refuse, that would be money, 12 of us retired March 31, 2010. I LOVE RETIREMENT! It is wonderful getting paid to stay home, sleep in (at least until 7 a.m.) and do what I want. Those defined benefit retirement plans are AMAZING!
